Italian Style Tomato Sauce (Simple Basic Recipe)
This is one of our basic sauces which we have made and stores in the fridge, it has multiple uses and can be used in any number of different dishes and is also suitable to be served with freshly cooked pasta. Depending on what dishes we had on the menus this recipe would last for 5 to 7 days.
  1. Sweat the Onions in the olive oil
  2. Add the Garlic and sweat a little more
  3. Add canned Tomatoes
  4. Add the basil and parsley.
  5. Simmer gently for about 1 to 2 hours (Or place in an oven in a pot with a lid on set at about 140°C)
  6. Correct the seasoning and consistency to taste.
